Each round basket is hand woven by a Kenyan artisan woman using locally sourced, partially recycled materials that make it extremely durable and easy to clean. Named after the Swahili word for pocket the Mifuko.  Mifuko enables these artisans to invest in their farms, send their children to school, and make plans for the future. By purchasing a Kiondo Extra Large Basket, you become an essential part of this story. Each African basket comes with a tag bearing the maker's name.
